Processing of personal data 

Personal data are only stored for justified reasons. As a rule, the data are needed for providing services and for communication. The use of the services is voluntary, and the personal data provided are not processed for any purposes other than those indicated. For example in subscription services (newsletter), subscribers are requested to give their email address so that messages can be sent to them. In connection with blog posts, the following information is requested from the author(s), besides the email address: the name/job title and job description, background organisation and possible social media channels that will be displayed on the website with the blog post. 

The personal data included in the registers have been grouped for each service at the end of this page.

The data are processed by the persons maintaining the contents of the service in the ministries, as well as by cooperation partners providing the service (specialists in rural policy networks) in accordance with the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation. 

The data are not disclosed outside the service, to other systems or to third parties. The data are not transmitted or disclosed outside the EU or the EEA. 

The data are stored in the service for the duration of their life cycle or until the person concerned requests the Ministry in writing to delete the data or when the subscriber cancels the subscription through a link provided by email.

Service users' rights

As a user of services, you have the right, among other things, to know what data we store about you and who processes your data. In addition, you can check the data we have collected about you and update it, if necessary. You can have your data deleted from our systems or you can limit their processing.

  1. Right to check your own data: You can have access to your personal data stored in the service by making an information request by email to the person responsible for maintaining the page: Antonia Husberg, firstname.lastname@mmm.fi, tel. +358 295 162 033.
  2. Rectifying or supplementing the data: If you notice omissions or errors in your data, you can ask that they be corrected. In such a case, we ask you to tell us what information is incorrect and why and how the information should be changed, or to tell us what information should be supplemented and how.
  3. Restriction of processing: If you have indicated that your data is incorrect, you have the right to request that their processing is restricted until the accuracy of the data is verified.
  4. Withdrawal of consent to use the data: You can ask the Ministry in writing to erase your data from the service. You can delete your subscription data (newsletter) at any time by cancelling your subscription using the link you received when you first subscribed OR by sending a request to maaseutupolitiikka@mmm.fi.
  5. Appeal or complaint concerning the processing of personal data: If necessary, you may lodge an appeal or complaint concerning the processing of your data with the Data Protection Ombudsman. More information at Tietosuoja.fi.

  • Writing a blog post: Name, job title, job description, background organisation, email, social media channels
  • Speakers at the Rural Parliament and other major events: Name, title, biography, social media channels
  • Members of the Rural Policy Council and the secretariat: Name, background organisation
  • Rural policy networks and project group: Name, background organisation
  • Employees of rural policy networks and other employees: Name, contact information, job title, job description and background organisation

Location

The Ruralpolicy.fi and Ruralparliament.fi personal data register is located on a physically protected server in Finland.

Cookies

Our website visitor tracking collects statistics for us to be able to develop the online service. Data are collected e.g. on websites viewed, times of visit, browser types and operating systems. This tracking does not directly collect data that would enable identification of individual visitors.

Third-party applications, such as social media feeds, videos or podcasts are embedded into some pages of this website. These applications use cookies to obtain data on the website addresses visited and pages viewed. More information on how cookies are used is available in the privacy statement of each service provider.
