Tasks of the Rural Policy Committee

The Rural policy Committee works under the Ministerial Group on Rural Policy, which functions as its steering group. The matters are prepared by the Secretariat of the Rural Policy Committee

The tasks of the Rural Policy Committee are:

• Implementation of rural policy in cooperation with the
  administrative sectors
•  Preparation, implementation and follow-up of Rural Policy
  Programmes
• Theme-specific development work
• Reinforcing rural research and expertise
• Promoting rural proofing (rural impact assessment)
• Promoting rural enterprise, employment and equality
• Reinforcing structures and methods of rural development
  work at all functional levels
• Reinforcing civic activity focused on rural development
• Enhancing the interaction between rural and urban areas
• Initiating and promoting discourse on rural policy
