Rural policy committee
The Rural Policy Committee is a cooperation body which aims to promote
the well-being of the rural areas in various ways. The primary objective of
rural policy is to improve the preconditions for living in the countryside. The
rural areas must be diverse and viable in terms of industries, services and the
population basis.
The Rural Policy Committee is appointed by the Finnish Government. More than
500 persons from several ministries and other organisations participate in its
work.
